Educated in glass at California College of Arts and Crafts, Bill Akers' distinct style derived inspiration from the renaissance of the craft movement coming out of California in the 70's. Originally from Seattle, Akers returned in 1994 to open his own hot shop where he produced whimsical and exciting work. The array of goblets, candlesticks and bottles (no two are alike) that Vetri represents are a delightful marriage of vivacious gesture and botanical references.
