"My series of glass hats evolved from an interest in human interaction with familiar objects. Hats offer me an opportunity to explore the challenges of glass blowing and our relationship with everyday objects seen in a new light. I have quickly realized the power the hat shape has to evoke strong associations, memories and feelings that everyone can understand." - Brian Brenno First introduced to glass blowing while attending a stained glass class at Pilchuck in 1981, Brenno has been blowing glass ever since. He graduated in 1985 from California College of Arts and Crafts, and worked for Dale Chihuly for the next nine years, working with many of the best glass artists in the world. In 1997, he built his own hot shop near Seattle on Vashon Island and works solely producing his own unique series of hats.
