My most recent body of work speaks to the pervasive conflict between consumer and producer. I aim to relay a message through which creative expression and commercial consumption are reconciled. I bring humor to this paradox through use of playful and colorful subject matter - such as chewed gum, cigarette butts, and old banana peels - provoking initial repulsion upon first encounter, followed by relief when the objectÕs true nature is discovered. These pieces represent the absurdity of modern societal differentiation between what objects are considered valuable and what is considered refuse.
