Artist Statement
Onaforma Intimate exists to give the Art lover a glimpse of the energy that infuses objects and people with life. Physical objects, such as sensuous blown glass and delicate paper, as well as people, are merely shimmering illusions of solidity and fact. They are in essence dancing energy. Unabashed laziness prompts our minds to choose to refer to these hornet's nests of energy as static and still.
Onaforma Intimate employs the all-powerful line to animate objects otherwise without an inherent visible motion. Static objects appear charged with force and dynamism. Depth of field is created out of virtually flat space. Tertiary colors spring from the pairing of white and black lines. In both glass and paper, Onaforma Intimate produces a graphically visual rhythm through the intersection in space of single or multiple lines.
Without the politics of the Futurists or the non-subject ness of the Op-Artists, Onaforma Intimate brings boldness to the sublime and attaches allure to the benign. Onaforma is the obvious choice for this exaltation. Onaforma is whole yet inviting; full yet receptive, flat yet round. Onaforma nurtures where others negate; enchants where others extinguish. In a variety of guises, Onaforma Intimate initiates the perception of life.
Onaforma is energy in art.
