Katrina Hude was born in 1967, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Her early studies were in the visual arts, beginning with ceramics and photography. As an undergraduate at California College of Arts and Crafts, she expanded her portfolio to include mixed-media: 3-dimensional works in bronze, alluminum and steel fabrication. A fascination for glass as sculptural media began to infiltrate the works in metal. As a graduate student at San Jose State University, glass was a primary medium for a thesis project. Since that time she has received many distinguished awards, residencies and fellowships, including the Creative Glass Center of America Fellow and the Pilchuck Glass School Emerging Artist. Her works can be seen in New Glass Review, 1996-1997.
