Non-precious explores Lisa Kinoshita's pursuit to bring focus to materials often disregarded as valued or worthy of use, re-presenting them as precious and deserving of focus. Using diverse materials such as glass, leather, geodes, rough-cut stones, or fossils, the artist pushes the viewer to accept these often under-recognized materials as equally if not more valuable than the gems we revere. The work serves as both a reminder of our reliance on natural resources and a new take on what is beautiful.
