Jeremy and Allison's work is inspired by the natural world: "We are inspired by the natural world and our role within it. Through our work we seek to deepen our connection to our mountain valley home and the diverse ecosystems surrounding us. Fire is a common occurrence during the hot, dry summers east of the Cascades and is an essential part of the forest's health. The title of our show, Regeneration, refers to the stage in the fire cycle when the forest rises up from its own ashes and renews itself. Each piece within the body of work tells a story of the fire cycle and its effect on the landscape. From the storm that starts the fire, to the fire that burns the forest, to the forest's regeneration, we look at how nature moves fluidly from maturity to death and rebirth. Our time spent in the woods allows us to recognize the beauty in each stage of the fire cycle and find how its lessons relate to our own life cycle. The themes we explore are universal - life, death, rebirth - and remind us that change is our only constant."
