"As a lampworker and artist, my interests currently are in two directions. One being technical lampwork, represented in my work by thin, classical, wine glasses and vessel styles influenced by the Venetian tradition. The other is a strong interest in large scale sculptural and architectural art.
Vessels and goblets speak for themselves, and are studies in technique and form. This work allows me to practice skill development while striving to produce challenging objects I admire. My recent interest and work have been mostly in non-functional goblets which offer me more room for self expression while still including the demanding technical aspect of goblet making.
My other work reflects my belief that I can use the versatility of working with glass and a torch to produce pieces on an unimagined level. The possibilities that could be realized with lampworking are currently unknown. This is very exciting to me and most of my current work is experimentational with structural engineering and design on a relatively small scale as a precursor to future work."
