"I am interested in potential energy and the cohesiveness of simple organic forms. In the complexity described by the boughs of a tree was once the simple oval of a seed, and the intensity of expression in the human face was once the sphere of an ovum. Since everything living begins as a simple form there is an elemental power in simple forms, a reminder of our origins. My designs are inspired by the first stages of life, such as the seed or egg interacting with initiators like spermatozoa. The moment that the simple becomes the unfolding mayhem of existence is the moment I am trying to tap into with the shapes I make. Glass is the perfect metaphor for this idea since every object ever blown had its origins as the small seed bubble of the first gather. "
