David Calles is a glass blower; originally from Argentina, he moved to Canada in 1993. He has a BA in Arts from Brown University (1990) and attended Sheridan College between 1994 and 1999, majoring in glass. He expresses himself through the exploration of color, form, and traditional Italian cane techniques.
David came to Victoria in 2001 to start his own glass blowing studio, Miramontes Artworks located in ten-mile point, Victoria, BC. Opening in 2007, his studio is a place where other glass artists can come to make their own work and where non-glass artists and designers can come to have work made for them.
